Dontnod's Twin Mirror no longer episodic, still on track for 2020 release

Twin Mirror has been made slightly less mysterious this week.

Unlike Dontnod's earlier work, Twin Mirror will not be an episodic game. The game originally started out as a multi-episode adventure, but the developer decided to redesign it as a full experience on day one.

Following its delay last year, Dontnod partnered up with Epic Games to self-publish the game on the Epic Games Store, which allowed the developer more time to polish it and turn it into a single game. The studio also brought on Shibuya Productions as a co-producer.

The new teaser trailer sadly doesn't bring with it a new release date, but it's a good reminder of the game's main setup. In Twin Mirror, we play as Sam Higgs, a former investigative journalist who goes back to his hometown to say goodbye to an old friend, but gets caught up in an investigation involving the town's darkest secrets and his own past.
