Special Gears of War 3 hardware bundle announced for September 20 launch

Microsoft's lifted the wraps of a special hardware pack for Gears of War 3 that'll launch day-and-date with the game itself on September 20.

The console, which comes with a custom Gears look, will come with a 320Gb that will feature Gears-related sounds when you boot up the console and hit the disc trey, like the special Halo Reach 360 that released last year.

The bundle will also come with a copy of the game, a wired headset and a download token that gives you access to two pieces of DLC: the Adam Fenix character for multiplayer and the Omen Weapon Pack, which gives you access to the infected omen skin with a starter of five weapons. It's all yours for $399.

Joystiq's reporting that Microsoft will also release a special Gears-branded controller on August 11 for $59.99, based on the switchable d-pad controller and the mentioned DLC.

Gears of War 3 launches worldwide on September 20.
