Old School RuneScape claims 1 million users, adds God Wars Dungeon

While Jagex launched RuneScape 3 this year, it also launched Old School RuneScape, an older version of the immensely popular browser-based MMORPG. It's now had over 1 million players, and to celebrate Jagex will release the God Wars Dungeon.

Players are able to vote for content updates to Old School, and the new dungeon won by a whopping 89 percent. It adds four new bosses, and the opportunity to pick up high-level armour and special weapons including a legendary Godsword.

"Seeing RuneScape Old School hit the million-player mark so soon after launch is a great milestone for the game and our players have joined the celebration by voting for the game's most epic update to date," said Phil Mansell, RuneScape's executive producer, via press release.

It genuinely frightens me that this is what normal RuneScape looked like back when I was 15 years old.

Thanks, Polygon.
