Rage 2 pre-order bonus adds NBA Jam announcer
Though it was announced on April 1, this is in fact a real thing.
Bethesda has revealed a neat little pre-order bonus for Rage 2. Because of how ridiculous it is, you'd be forgiven for thinking it wasn't real, but it definitely is.
The publisher is teaming up with voice actor Tim Kitzrow, known for voicing the announcer in NBA Jam, to narrate the action in Rage 2. The company is calling it a cheat code, and it's part of the game's pre-order package.
The DLC is dubbed He's on Fire, and the trailer below shows it off pretty well. The pack does feature many well-known lines like "boomshakalaka", as well as more tailored commentary such as "you just sliced her head right off." It's not clear, however, how verbose Kitzrow is going to be during gameplay.
Rage 2 is a game heavy on the action, so play-by-play commentary might get old pretty quickly. We'll have to judge the final code to know for sure, but the reveal trailer will definitely get a few chuckles out of you.
Rage 2 is out May 14 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
