PSP Move dock discovered in Sony patent

An interesting patent has turned up suggesting Sony may be investigating some sort of PS Move support system for portable consoles.

BYTE Unplugged uncovered the recently-published patent, which shows a dock for a handheld console.

By means of a built in camera, the dock allows the PS Move to be used to control the device. It only has a narrow vision range, but can rotate to follow the player.

The patent (PDF) itself shows a PSPgo, but as Sony has discontinued the console, it's safe to assume any pursuit of this tech will favour the PSP - or more likely, the NGP.

The NGP is already set to include a faceplate camera, although bluetooth controller support - like the PSP's - hasn't been detailed.

Thanks, Joystiq.
