PS3 software sales jump to 47 million units in Q3 FY09

Sony's announced a rise in PS3 software sales to 47.6 million units in Q3 FY09.

The figure's up 6.8 million units YoY from 40.8 million at the same period in 2008, a gain of 16.7 percent.

PSP software figures are down for the quarter between October and December, showing sales of 15 million compared to 15.5 million in Q3 FY08.

PS2, unlike PS3, saw a big drop in games sales, with over 11.2 million software units moved compared to 29.7 million units at the same point in 2008.
