DmC: Devil May Cry Home Truths video drips nostalgia

DmC: Devil May Cry cops a lot of flack for the ways it differentiates from earlier games in the series, but this new gameplay video reminds us of a few ways it's just the same. Some spoilers through the break.

A noted on Capcom Unity, this early environment looks quite a lot like some of the spaces we've explored in previous Devil May Cry games, and for once, we get to see Dante having a good poke around instead of leaping from battle to battle. That said, the action seems pretty intense, with the following descriptor from Capcom's better qualified judges:

"You'll spot a snazzy helm breaker cancel-fest around 1:35, a very well-placed evade cancel at 1:44, and some mid-combo weapon switching at about 1:49. The player also uses a stationary air evade to extend his air time for a beat at about 2:06."

Excellent, I guess? DmC: Devil May Cry arrives on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in January 2013. It will have four extra difficulty modes for serious players, and come in a pretty fancy Son of Sparda edition.
