Batman: Arkham Knight - Batgirl identity revealed, behind-the-scenes videos teased

If you know your Batman mythos, you may have already guessed the identity of Batgirl in Batman: Arkham Knight.

Batgirl was announced earlier this week as part of the season pass for Batman: Arkham Knight. She will be the star of a short story DLC titled "A Matter of Family."

Ever since the reveal, Batman fans have been theorising about the identity of the character, trying to tie it back to a few of the ones that appeared in the comics. The two most popular guesses were Barbara Gordon - daughter of commissioner Gordon, and Cassie Cain - daughter of League of Assassins' member David Cain.

Sefton Hill, co-founder at developer Rocksteady confirmed on Twitter that Barbara is indeed going to be our Batgirl.

The Barbara Gordon choice was certainly more plausible due to the DLC's synopsis pegging it as a prequel. So it's very possible that the story will borrow events from The Killing Joke arc, in which she gets paralysed by the Joker and in turn becomes Oracle, who has been seen bound to a wheelchair in the trailers.

Hill also teased two new behind the scenes videos to be released in the coming days. Scarecrow actor John Noble is said to be featured.
