Assassin's Creed Rogue is "single-player only"

We're still checking this, but it looks as though Assassin's Creed Rogue's online play is pretty much off.

Gamingeverything is reporting that Assassin's Creed: Rogue is "single-player only". The information is apparently taken from the latest issue of Game Informer.

Rogue stars a Templar named Shay Patrick Cormac. His story links to that of the Kenway family in Assassin’s Creed 3 and 4, and somehow ties into Assassin’s Creed: Unity. The game is set during The Seven Years’ War, which took place between 1754 and 1763.

Rogue, being developed in the main by Ubisoft Sofia, is to release on 360 and PS3 as a counter-point to Assassin's Creed: Unity on PS4 and Xbox One.

We've reached out to Ubisoft for comment, but we'd heard nothing back at the time of writing.

Thanks, Xboxygen.
