Amano, Uematsu and Compile Heart to collaborate on new RPG

An all-star team of Japanese RPG talent will unite for the first project from the Galapagos brand.

Gematsu reports Compile Hearts has announced the first game to be developed under its new Galapagos RPG brand, revealed earlier this month as a specialist, Japan-focused initiative.

Team Neptune, the Compile Hearts group responsible for Hyperdimension Neptunia, is developing the game, with a little help from some highly-lauded artists.

Yoshitaka Amano will supply some art for the game; although best-known among gamers for Final Fantasy character design, he's an accomplished and world-renowned fantasy artist who has provided designs for a broad range of projects in Japan and internationally.

Music will be supplied by Earthbound Papas, a band formed by Nobuo Uematsu, composer of many Final Fantasy soundtracks among many other accomplishments.

A teaser trailer released today shows a bit of artwork and promises a full announcement in the May 9 issue of Weekly Famitsu.

Though we don't yet have a title, we know the first game will have a fantasy theme and release before the end of the year. Here's a teaser trailer, which apparently promises a full reveal in Famitsu in early May.
