30fps aimed for Gears of War 3, says Bleszinski

Gears 32

Epic Games lead designer Cliff Bleszinski has revealed it's aiming for 30fps for Gears of War 3.

He insists that the studio is to go for better graphics then a smoother framerate for the game.

"Our target is, and shall remain, 30fps," Bleszinski told CVG. "When asked about 60 we always respond that we'd rather have the extra juice to put more on screen and stick with 30"

Yesterday, scans from a Russian magazine had an eight-page feature on the much-anticipated actioner, which mentioned a couple of graphical details for it, include real-time environment changes. Bleszinski soon tweeted, though, that some of the stuff from the mag was "badly translated".

Gears of War 3 releases on April 8, 2011 for Xbox 360 in Europe, with an April 5 launch in the US.
