Raven hates Call of Duty: Warzone cheaters for "ruining some of the [studio's] best work"

Call of Duty: Warzone developer Raven is more frustrated with cheaters than even players realise.

Call of Duty: Warzone has had problems with cheating practically since its launch. While developer Raven has ramped up its efforts to counter cheating, creating a dedicated enforcement team and regularly banning players, many feel the studio's efforts don't go far enough.

But one thing Warzone players sometimes miss is that Raven hates cheaters just as much, if not more so, than players. Speaking to VGC, Raven creative director Amos Hodge said that "no one hates the cheaters more than we do."

"Cheating is handled by our security team," Hodge explained. "But what I will say is that we have reporting tools, we ban a ton of people and no one hates the cheaters more than we do.

"We make this content for the players and while you’re upset that it ruined your game, I’m upset that it’s ruining some of the best work that I’ve done in my life."

Hodge added that the rest of the team at Raven shares this sentiment.

"We put our hearts into this content, we have 100 million players, it’s been out a year, this is a huge stage and some of the best work we’ve ever done, and to have cheaters come in and ruin the game bothers us more than anyone." Hodge said.

"I know the security team are on top of it and they’re continually going to make updates."

Warzone recently launched its big Season 3 update, which brought a big overhaul to its Verdansk map, and added the usual free content in weapons and skins. Though there hasn't been any major reports of cheaters since then, they always arrive a few days into each season.
