Dying Light developer Techland is not sure if what it wants to do with the sequel can even be achieved on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Techland is enjoying great success with Dying Light. The game has sold over 5 million copies so far. Naturally, sequel ideas are being tossed around at the studio.
Techland seems very ambitious about what it thinks would constitute a sequel. Producer Tymon Smektala told Videogamer that it’s too early to talk about what’s possible and what isn’t.
“We have lots of very ambitious ideas so first we need to check if these ideas are even doable with the tech that the current consoles provide. We also need to check if our concepts are really as good as we think they are, so we need to prototype things.
“So there is nothing to talk about, and on the other hand there are lots of things going inside our studio where we test, prototype and experiment with stuff.”
Smektala added that despite that, the studio has a clear idea of where it wants to go with the franchise.
The Following, an upcoming story expansion for Dying Light, was detailed recently.
