Humble Bundle V adds Super Meat Boy, Braid, Lone Survivor
Humble Bundle V organizers have added Lone Survivor, Braid, and Super Meat Boy to what in our opinion is the best indie bundle yet. The bundle already includes: Bastion, Limbo, Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP, Psychonauts, and Amnesia: The Dark Descent as well as the soundtracks, but if you pay over the current average price – $7.98 at press time – you’ll get all the above. Those who already purchased the bundle, will get the additions as well. So far, 435,891 bundles have been sold, generating $3,340,127.23 and counting.

Latest Humble Bundle is one of the best yet
The latest Humble Bundle is rather kick-ass, if we say so ourselves. It comes with Amnesia: The Dark Descent, Bastion, Limbo, Psychonauts, and Sword & Sworcery as well as soundtracks. Right now you can pay what you want to get all the games, save Bastion which require you to pay over the average which is now at $6.39. As time progresses, surprise additions will be added. There’s a video for it below as well to help convince you, as if Amnesia wasn’t enough in our opinion.

Psychonauts and Advent Rising land on GoG for cheap

GoG has added Psychonauts and Advent Rising to its online library for $9.99 and $5.99, respectively.
This is all part of a deal the company signed with Majesco, which plans to send BloodRayne and BloodRayne 2 along in the coming weeks.
“One of GOG.com‘s main goals is to bring games that were overlooked back into the spotlight”, said GoG managing director, Adam Oldakowski. “Games like Psychonauts perfectly embody the ‘Good Old Game’ and we’re thrilled to be bringing that game, along with other quality titles, to a new audience.”

Schafer would like Brutal Legend and Psychonauts sequels

Tim Schafer has told Shack that he would like to see sequels to both Brutal Legend and Psychonauts.
“That would be great. I would love that,” he said. “There’s a lot of story. When I do a game, I usually do a lot of backstory and research and stuff. There was a big epic story that we were only able to tell a small part of. There’s definitely more stories to tell in the world of Brütal Legend.
“We’ll have to wait and see.”
As far as Psychonauts is concerned?
“That’d be awesome, wouldn’t it? I think that would be awesome. I love that game and I would love to do something with it someday. If the fans keep talking about it, maybe it will happen.”

Schafer – Creative games will be made despite the market

Game designer Tim Schafer has posted on his blog that creative games will be made no matter how poorly they sell.
Basically, stop fretting.
Here’s the long and short of it:
“Unless it’s your money on the line, game sales don’t need to keep you up at night. The market and game executives do not dictate what games get made – they just dictate what gets made easily. They affect what can be made without a fight. As long as there are creative people out there willing to fight for ideas they care about, then there is nothing that the market or anyone else can do to stop them.”

GameTap Thursday lets you play Sacred Gold and Grimm for free

GameTap has added a new American McGee’s Grimm episode to the line-up this week.
Grimm, the wee-happy troll, goes to China where he meets the cross-dressing-warrior-woman Mulan and makes the Yellow River earn its name.
Non-subscribers can play this too, because new episodes of Grimm are always free for the first 24 hours.
Speaking of free, RPG fans can play Sacred Gold all this week for nada, and Psychonauts, Metal Slug, Tomb Raider: Legend and Earthworm Jim have also been returned to the free bin.
