Rocket League Season 2 kicks off in February

Rocket League veterans are invited to have another go at climbing the ranks.

Competitive Rocket League recommences in February, Psyonix has announced.

Season 2 draws heavily on community feedback from Season 1, and will reward consistent improvement rather than emphasising individual wins and losses.

When the season begins you'll find ranked matches listed as Competitive Matchmaking in playlists. Rank Points won't feature this season; your Skill Rating is the only factor to affect your division. You won't be immediately promoted or demoted based on a few wins or losses; division changes occur after consistent skilful (or less skilful) play.

Divisions themselves have been overhauled, with 12 new titles replacing the four tiers of Season 1. All players will need to play ten placement matches at the start of Season 2 to determine their Skill Division, which will also be influenced by their Season 1 Skill Rating if applicable.

For more information, visit Rocket League's Steam Community hub. As a reminder, Season 1 rewards will be handed out in February.
