The author, who left BioWare over four years ago to work on his Chaos Born novels, has returned to work on Star Wars: The Old Republic after completing his book trilogy.

Karpyshyn announced the career move on his blog. "Working at BioWare was a challenging but very rewarding job, and it’s good to be back as part of the team", he said. "The thing I missed most about BioWare was the amazing people I got to work with, and luckily for me many of them are still there!"

He also clarified that he is not working on anything new or unannounced, rather focusing entirely on The Old Republic.

Karpyshyn has led an enviable career. He started at BioWare working on expansions for Baldur's Gate 2 before eventually working on Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and the first two Mass Effect games. He is also the author of numerous Mass Effect and Star Wars novels.
