Yes, you'll need Xbox Live Gold to play the Destiny beta

Bungie has confirmed to fans that Xbox Live Gold is a requirement to play the Destiny beta on Xbox platforms.
It's no surprise, but it still stings for some players. However, Sony's PlayStation Plus service is also needed for some "activities" according to the developer, although it is yet to elaborate further.
The Destiny beta goes live this week. You can win access to the beta by entering our competition here.
Officially starting on July 17th, the beta will get underway a little earlier with "trusted allies" according to Bungie. Watch the skies.
