Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain may not release until financial year 2015/2016, according to information coming out of Konami’s post-financials investor call.

We reported on Konami’s financials this morning, revealing that PS3 remains the company’s biggest money-spinner.

Tweeting extracts from the investor call live as it happened, market analyst David Gibson revealed that MGS 5: The Phantom Pain may be some way off:

He added:

Do you believe that Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain could be as far off as 2015 or even 2016? What about those seven major console releases? Let us know what you think below.

Well it’s worth the wait. But really as much as i love MGS i do not like the idea of GZ being sold separately for 20-40USD. I mean c’mon I know Kojima is an experimental guy but i hope he’ll price Phantom Pain 40USD max to make up for GZ’s price and gameplay length.

That sounds like an awfully long wait.

I think ps plus should have a discount. And I think the wait is ok seeing that we have a lot of AAA games due out this year.
