Had no idea this was even in development, Nice…
Hopefully it won’t be as buggy as the first release, I’ll be buying it.

You want me to buy this again Capcom??????

Sigh….ok but this is definitely the last time, also can you do HD remakes of 1,2 annd 3 for PC please because I will buy them too.

    But that’s it!

    Oh and resi zero too.

Other than the other titles they constantly redo this deserves a re-release on PC, the first release was an absolute mess.

Let’s hope they did this one from scratch. The original PC version was probably the worst port I’ve ever played. It didn’t even have mouse support and the buttons that were shown during QTE were wrong!

Not as bad as Saints Row 2… To this day people with high end rigs struggle to keep over 30fps hahaha

Why is this exist? Ahh… to print more money.
Dont think it will look better then the already available modded version.

  8. YoungZer0

@6: Yes it is. It totally is worse than SR2. Let me repeat that: NO MOUSE SUPPORT! Textures worse than the console version, etc.

For the love of God, get this out on PS4/XBO!

Yeah, count me in as one hoping this will be worth it.

Anyone else think that the trailer showed a bit of RE6 in its gameplay? Have Leon always been able to do that sudden crouch?

    #10 9 months ago
  11. YoungZer0

@10: Yes, but it’s only context sensitive. Wish it would’ve the level of movement RE6 had. Loved that. Would be the perfect game.

Does HD count here? Wasn’t it HD when it originally came out?

    Honest question.

    #12 9 months ago
  13. YoungZer0

@12: Nope, the PC version looked the worst when it was released the first time. Only a texture patch added the graphics you saw on the PS2 version. The cutscenes especially looked absolutely terrible.

This is what it looked like before the first patch.

    Cheers, YoungZero.

    …oh, and yuck.

“The crap pc port total fell eight years ago, and will fail again. Capcom: no brain, no game only fail pc ports 8 years old game”

The only crap thing around here is your grammar, sort it out man.

I don’t know what reaction to give this. By buying it what message would be sent back to Capcom? What’s their plan, their reason for releasing this – is it a testbed for future, similar projects, a chance for them to glimpse at how receptive the PC audience is to legacy Capcom titles…? It doesn’t LOOK bad in the trailer…But, then again, their base was a botched console port release from over a decade ago. How much credit earned here.

WHO is working on delivering the update. There’s no mention in the end of the trailer of a separate developer/out-source. An up-and-coming dev team, newly formed and using this as their means to prove themselves ready for bigger bites, perhaps?
If this was intended as a “love-letter” to PC players, I would also remind its publishers that, to this day, RE5 remains absent its DLC on that platform! :)

@17: Don’t engage. He’s been here for years. That’s all he writes. It’s rather embarrassing that VG247 still has not gotten rid of him.

I really do not understand why they let him write here at all. Sure his comments are not too hurtful, because most people know who he is. But they aren’t exactly useful either and if he’s ever kicked, nothing would be lost. You can’t really have a conversation with him either.

@18: Update? You don’t think that’s a patch for the old version, do you? :D

They didn’t even bother to update the sea graphics , very very lazy port and its the exact port from the HD collection , which looks freaking awful , i wonder if this “Ultimate HD” edition had graphics settings , Anti-Aliasing / Texture Quality ?

Well since its a lazy port , i’m expecting this to be locked at 720p with no graphic settings whatsoever !

@18 there probably trying to make amends for all the crap they have thrown our way. Not sure what they would be testing for.

Or they have finally hired a programmer who can actually code for the PC. So they intend on going back through there catalogue of mistakes and missed opportunities haha

  22. Panthro

Most of the new Capcom PC games have been optimised well on the PC, this is basically a cash in for a game they fucked up on and see a large fanbase who want a better port.

More than likely I can’t actually remember the last capcom game I played probably this on the GameCube thinking about it.

This was needed – the HD remakes on 360 and PS3 have a fluctuating frame-rate that makes em unplayable. Hoping they also bring this to PS4 and X1 for those of us who still adore this game.

10 years later, are you nuts? Because I am, for this game, and I’m getting it DAY ONE. Hell yeah!

  26. POOhead

i will never support this game until they change the bin laden guys face so that he looks abit like gary oldman from lost in space, he clearly is a rip off of spider smith

  27. SplatteredHouse

@YZ: not at all. I was considering it as an “update” in the way that TV/film remakes are sometimes referred to. I’d still be eager to learn what the basis for this version of RE4 is, though.

Now that I think about it what is that none of us knew this was in development. They didn’t bother doing anything to promote until it was one month from release. In my (albeit) small gamer “career” that has never been a good sign.

    Resident Evil 4 HD:
ATI Radeon HD 4850 or better

    Resident Evil 6:
ATI Radeon HD 3850 or better

Is this game gonna have redone graphics or something?
