Screenshots for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt have been released from gamescom, and are posted below the break.

The lovely shots below show Geralt battling what appears to be a demon elk, guards, and there’s a few breathtaking vistas in there as well. There’s even a shot of what appears to be people in suspended animation, so you have a choice in your eye candy.

Also if you haven’t seen it already, you can watch the Killing Monsters cinematic trailer through here.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is slated for 2014 on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

The fuck is up with his scar in picture #3? Why does it seem to bleed?

@4 NP! I figured they were worthy of the 30 minutes it took to upload them in a higher resolution. :)

Looks like some concept arts and bullshots to me. But anyhow i’m still eagerly waiting for TW3.

PS. Anyway i’m not a hater if you think i’m one, I bought 2 copies of TW2 for PC. One retail and another in GOG (pre-ordered before launch).

This and Dragon Age: Inquisition are the main selling points of next-gen for me. These shots look beautiful.

    Uhm no, 1080p downscaled to 1 486 px × 836 px

    4k wouldn’t fit your screen.

They’re not bullshots, CD Projekt has stated in many occasions they don’t do that stuff.

Even if you don’t believe in CDP, just compare these screens to the previous ones: they’re not even that good! Look at the scar in the 3rd one, the lack of the scabbard in the second one, or the super blurred background (usually a console trick) in the 3rd and 4th one.

My money is on these being from a console version of the game, previous ones were confirmed to be on PC and were much crispier.

    Question for Witcher fans:

Does this game let you hunt animals aswell as monsters?

Also, if you can, has bow and arrow / ranged combat been confirmed and is it ‘lock on’ or ‘free aim’?

Animal hunt (for resources) has been confirmed to be a part of the game in TW3, it’s a first time for the series.

Bows are confirmed to be out though, the game sticks to its lore and Geralt is a swordsman. You could throw daggers in TW2, so if they’re still in and available for hunting remains to be seen.

    Thanks! :)

I love games where you can hunt and there is a varied ecosystem. Far Cry 3, Red Dead, GTA 5 looks good too…
