Pokémon X & Y’s new reveal looks a lot like Mewtwo

Sunday, 7th April 2013 23:23 GMT By Brenna Hillier

Nintendo and Gamefreaks are being a bit mysterious about Pokémon X & Y’s latest reveal, but one ting’s for sure – this new contender has some sort of tie to MewTwo, the first and most badass of the rare mythic Pokémon.

Alright nerds, settle down – technically Mewtwo is a clone of Mythic Pokémon Mew making it a Genetic Pokémon – but semantics aside I think we can agree he was the coolest rare of the Red and Blue generation and the one we all used for unwinnable, endless battles.

A new, unnamed Pokémon was shown off this weekend on the Japanese TV show Pokémon Smash, but no details have been given beyond a hint that it is connected to everyone’s favourite Psychic type. What we do have is some footage and tiny images.

Pokémon X & Y is due on 3DS in October.

    Mewthree?

Not really a fan of the design. Well, if you try and make a Pokemon look like Mewtwo, that’s some high standards for badassery to live up to.

Why don’t Nintendo release these dame games on the Wii U with better graphics. They would help move consoles maybe.

@5 Cause Nintendo knows that the 3DS has sold a lot more right now, it’s easier to develop for, and portable are more popular in Japan.

We’ll get a Wii U version, but the 3DS version has to come first. Not to mention, making a fully fledged Pokemon game on Wii U is going to take a lot of time.

I’ll take the 3DS version now, which still looks great, and a Pokemon game on the Wii U later. The Wii, and Gamecube both received Pokemon games at some point. I’m sure Nintendo will have a Pokemon game on the Wii U at some point.
