Pokemon X & Y: new creature Sylveon announced, watch the trailer here

Pokemon X & Y publisher Nintendo has announced a brand-new creature for its incoming 3DS titles. It’s called Sylveon, a Pokemon that evolves from Eevee. It confirms rumours that appeared earlier this week about an Eevee variant called ‘Ninfia’ – which is the creature’s Japanese name. We’ve got screens and a trailer of Sylveon below the cut.

Here’s an Eevee evolution infographic that Nintendo sent to us officially. Note that Sylveon doesn’t have an evolution method yet. Developer GameFreak has confirmed that there is a secret to evolving Sylveon. We have no idea what it is yet:

Probably a Normal type. But its name makes me think its a Flying Type.

Spectacularly misleading article. Kudos.

First of all, there’s is no “basic” type. There is a “normal” type, but Nintendo haven’t confirmed the type yet. Fan speculation is pointing at “normal” or “flying” type, but that’s baseless rumour.

Note that in the Eevee chart, Sylveon has a ??? type under it’s name? Yeah, it’s not known yet.

Ninfia is also the Japanese name for the pokemon when it was officially announced, funnily enough, in the Japanese CoroCoro magazine. That was last week. Today was the official English announcement, by it’s English name, Sylveon.

All things that could have been deduced with an ounce of research. This article is far too catty for it’s own good, and entirely unfactual. Piss weak effort guys.

@2 How is it misleading? It’s a new creature, the new name is news for Western markets. What’s the problem?

And yes, if you click the link at the top of the article, you’ll see that I already did the Ninfia/CoroCoro story.

Something tells me there may be a new type or two introduced in this generation

hahahaha you guys forgetting about the move curse? it was a ??? type of move and sylveon might be a ??? type of pokemon kinda makes seense i mean they have not used ??? ever seense the move curse

sylveon doesn’t match anything other in the dex i been looking and looking can’t find anything that matches other than skitty and molitic
