Wednesday, 30th May 2012 13:37 GMT By Stephany Nunneley

Battlefield 3 Premium will release on June 4, according to the EU PS Update. It is slated to launch the same day as the Close Quarters map and will run you £39.99/€49.99/AU$79.95. EA has yet to announce the service, and a date for the PC and Xbox 360 versions was not noted. The service has been rumored for quite some time, and is to be similar to CoD Elite.

@2 If you want all of the 5 map packs yes.

@2 – that’s debatable and very subjective. The savings on all DLC for both MW3 and BF3 would be very comparable here.

    EDIT:

CoD Elite £35: 4 map packs at £11 each, so that’s a saving of £9

    BF3 premium £40: 4 map packs at £12 each, so that’s a saving of £8

BF3 premium would have much better savings however if you did not already have Back to Karkand for free.

@4 Battlefield Premium gives you also more stuff like weapons and Assignments, whereas Elite only gives maps.

Anyway there’s no mention of the Battlefield related stuff anywhere in the EU PS Blog.

@5 – new weapons and skins, big whoop. The assignments on the other hand are part of the DLC packs themselves so that’s not an advantage inherent to BF3 premium.

Arguing over periphery crap like that is pointless and is about as useful as arguing over the inherent usefulness of Elite’s other premium services that no one cares about.

Actually Premium doesn’t offer anything else besides the DLC themselves.

The stuff Elite offers for a price is already in the Battlelog.

I’m sure I remember reading that Premium offers exclusive extras such as unique skins and dog tags and such like.

Plus while Elite offers extra services that Battlelog does for free, let’s not kid ourselves, nobody gives a shit about that. Both Elite and premium are glorified, very expensive season passes. And arguing about the periphery points of each services bullet points is just ammunition for fanboys still fighting the BF vs CoD fight.

@6 Yep, it was. It was pretty much expected that it would be removed, due to it being a slip up. Figured EA would be wanting to announce it during its press conference on Monday.

I’m geting 4 DLCs just for the price of 4 DLCs! I only have put the cash up front. Looks like a great deal. Except not really.
