Battlefield 3 custom servers coming to consoles

DICE has announced that PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 Battlefield 3 players will soon have access to the same customisable server options as their PC counterparts.

Speaking at GDC, as reported by Joystiq, DICE CEO Karl-Magnus Troedsson confirmed customisable servers are on the way.

"All active players out there playing on consoles today will now have the opportunity to customize their servers and set them up exactly how they want them to play," he said.

"Now this is a feature that in Battlefield on PC we've had for some time, but it's an absolute first on console. So, we're pretty excited about this."

DICE also unveiled three new expansions for the popular multiplatform shooter.
