PS Motion Controls were initially wanted for Heavy Rain
Quantic Dream’s David Cage has said that he initially wanted motion controls for Heavy Rain.
Speaking in a reader Q&A with Norwegian publication Dagbladet (via Joystiq), Cage also said that the firm would announce something regarding the game that will have motion controls ” in the coming weeks”.
“The very first version of [Heavy Rain's] design was based on motion control, but it was not feasible at the time,” said Cage. “Given that the game was in development as far back as early 2006, it’s interesting to hear that Sony was already talking to developers about the device at the time.
“I have a lot of interest in Sony’s motion device and there is a good chance that we announce something about [the new game] in the coming weeks.”
Sony’s “Arc” is expected to be released this fall, and Heavy Rain’s out next week, and there’s a demo for it up on PSN right now.

I can easily see something like Arc working very well with Quatic Dream type games.

Yeah they wanted it, but at same time I bet they had to pass. Once Arc comes out they might experiment more with a BETA to see if people like it or not..
Heck its still an ARC, and not NATAL (thank god) so at least you would have some buttons to press.. and not wave arms like a maniac.

Funny thing is, it almost seems like it’s been designed with it in mind. I saw nothing in the demo that you wouldn’t have been able to do with the wand thing.
(In fact, some of the waggle movements and context controls would actually work better)

Motion Controls and 3D…YUCK
Motion Controls SUCK and 3D will give you BRAIN TUMORS…
I said it here first…when 3D hits its 3-5 year mark we will have an all new disease called 3D Tumors and Cancer.
Stay away from 3D unless you want massive migraines and brain tumors…
Oh and Motion Controls will Fail on the PS3 and 360.
