I play with both, just depends on what I’m playing, there are also games i’ll play on the monitor. Just depends on the mood i’m in.

Absolutely. Especially now with TVs that are pretty much big monitors, and graphics cards with multiple outputs (specifically HDMI ones that include audio).

It wasn’t so much fun in the old days of TV out and massive scart extension leads.

Wow, the comments on this article blow my mind. I knew console fanboys had some pretty nasty arguments, but I didn’t know PC gamers were like this.

Unlike some companies do, at least Remedy didn’t play it off like it was the Xbox 360′s power that made it exclusive, but that the experience was more suited for consoles. I don’t think anybody believes that this completely justifies the PC version getting canned, but the money does! But it isn’t just greed though. It is no secret that millions and millions of dollars worth of software are pirated on PC’s every year, and it costs more money to develop a game on 2 platforms over one. It would have been a risk for Microsoft and Remedy where as the 360 version will almost more than likely garner large sales. It isn’t a conspiracy for Microsoft to destroy their own PC platform as a space for gaming! Sure, they haven’t exactly tried to promote PC gaming like they have Xbox gaming, but that is because that is what the Xbox is specifically for! It is a controlled platform- it reduces piracy- it is good for them, and good for the industry.

blackdreamhunk can post links upon links here, but guess what dude- None of them matter! And if you refuse to buy a console, then that doesn’t matter either. You may be making a statement, but the people you are directing it at don’t give a shit because they are playing console games and having fun doing so. They aren’t having to upgrade their systems every year. It is a system that works better for people who don’t have several hundreds of dollars to spend on upgrading every time their’s are outdated, so don’t insult console gamers and the developers who make their games. Throw your money where you want, and I’ll throw mine where I want regardless of your strong opinions.

It is true, I have never been much of a PC gamer. But I wasn’t trying to say that everything you said was without merit. But you aren’t really considering the simple aspect of “preference.” I would rather play a game on a console, and there are tons of people out there just like me. You know it and I know it and the big companies know it to. They are watching out for their own asses and trying to turn a profit. If they think the best way for the business to operate is to cancel a game for PC and focus on its console counterpart, then that is fine. It is their business, and they don’t owe you or me or anyone else a damn thing. Either you give them money or not. You know?

You are 100% right, but I meant in comparison to PC. You can’t deny that PC piracy is much more readily available and accessible on the PC. The general audience of the console crowd wouldn’t be pirating games, only those with the knowledge and know how.

@The Juice707 both the nintendo dsi and wii have much bigger problems than pc.In fact it was in the billions in 2007. I have posted that some time ago.

Also console games get pirated a lot faster than pc gaming does. pirated don’t make money off of pc games. I will even say that game devs lose more money on consoles with high production costs,rented games,used game market and piracy.

Maybe other systems are getting pirated, but do they still not stand as more profitable platforms than PC?

Other than that, all I can say is once again that it is all business choice. They look for the path with the most profits and benefits. They don’t look at you and say “Haha, that guy plays games on PC, let’s screw him.” What does your argument even stand for? That big companies are “lairs” (I assume you are meaning liars… can’t believe you have misspelled it every time you have used the word)? Big companies look out for themselves and their profits.

Does anyone but BDH care? I mean I’m a big PC fanboy and I can see that their statement saying it doesn’t match the PC as a platform is just PR fluff, but clearly they didn’t want to make a PC game and forcing them to port the game and doing a hack job of it would annoy me more.

To be honest, I’ve kinda hit a stage where I’m just sick of PC/Console game hybrids because 90% of the time one or both platforms suffer in some way, so if a dev just wants to make a console game out and out then good for them, because I know if I go out and buy it on the 360 I know I wont be getting a shit version or vice versa on the PC.

Anyone saying a game is shit because it’s not coming to the PC is a fucking idiot though.

I have been reading these posts for the post 2 hours and can’t believe the stupidity of the majority of the posts. And I agree with you. Being a console gamer, I sometimes see PC games I wish I could play and almost universally, if the get a console counterpart it doesn’t reach the heights of the original because it was a port.

Thanks Juice, I know what you mean though, stuff like FEAR. The first one was a PC game and the console version just wasn’t up to scratch, and then FEAR 2 was a weird halfway point between PC and console and seemed to irk both camps at some level.

It was never a big issue in the past when console game was more Japan centric and the PC and console were so massively different in terms of architecture and power than going cross platform back then just didn’t work. And whilst it sort of does now, it still doesn’t feel right and poor ports from one of the other seem to hurt everyone. I think it was poor console ports that hurt the PC the most rather than not having x y z games.

Anyway, now the thread is dying down…

The controller is so versatile and perfect for any type of genre; be it shooter, platforming or RPG.

I know the 360 does that as well but the difference is the Wii has a slot-drive which looks like a mouth and therefore can be personified more.
