This Excellent Mod Puts the Best Song From Netflix’s Witcher Series Into the Original Game

Nod your head to this earworm, oh player of CD.

If there's one thing it seems most people can agree about concerning Netflix's adaptation of The Witcher, it's that Jaskier the bard (a.k.a. Dandelion) has made one hell of a catchy tune for Geralt of Rivia. "Toss A Coin To Your Witcher," the song that closes out the show's second episode, has spread across the internet like wildfire, and thanks to a new mod you can listen to it in CD Projekt Red's version of the universe.

Created by modder Hubert Wiza, the new "Toss A Coin To Your Witcher" mod adds a performance of the song to 2007's The Witcher as a new in-game cutscene. Specifically, the Netflix ballad is swapped in for Dandelion's performance at The New Narakort Inn in The Witcher's third chapter.

If you're not eager to dive back into CD Projekt Red's very first Witcher installment just to hear the tune, this video of the "Toss A Coin To Your Witcher" mod is the next best thing:

The song, performed by Jaskier actor Joey Batey and composed by Sonya Belousova & Giona Ostinelli, is brand new for the Netflix series. Even though "Toss A Coin To Your Witcher" has spawned numerous memes and a trap remix, don't hold out hope for an official encore in the games. Showrunner Lauren Hissrich says the show will stick to adapting Andrzej Sapkowski's Witcher books, suggesting they'll exist as separate entities moving forwards (even though there's a nod to Wild Hunt's bathtub scene).

Still, interest in CD Projekt Red's series has shot way, way up since the show's debut. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt just had its best day ever on Steam, tallying up over 100,000 concurrent players. That's good news for CD Projekt Red, which just reached a new agreement with Sapkowski last month for continued use of the Witcher IP.
