Survey: 30% of Japanese 3DS owners feel "anger or regret" over price drop

Japanese games site 4Gamer conducted a survey of 6,468 gamers in the country, and it found that 30 percent of 3DS owners obviously regret purchasing the handheld with the price drop imminent.

Those polled said they felt "anger or regret" over the price drop, and the upcoming free games apology would pacify them very little.

The survey also found that 49.4 percent felt the available library of games was unexceptional and they are "disappointed" with 3DS despite the upcoming game roster.

It was also found through the survey that 45.7 percent were unsure as to whether they would be purchasing Super Mario 3D Land or Mario Kart 7 upon release.

With price drop on the horizon, only 5.4 percent of those who have yet to purchase 3DS said they would buy one come August 11, and 42.1 percent said blamed their choice on the current games available. Of those who have yet to buy the handheld, 15.3 percent said had no intentions of ever pruchaing one.

A survey conducted in June by Goo Rankings, which polled 1,110 people, found that the majority of participants were waiting on price-drop before taking the 3DS plunge.

Interestingly, 65.2 percent of those polled said they would "probably" purchase Sony’s Vita when it launches later this year in Japan.
