Steam Game Guides launch to take on GameFAQs

Valve has launched Steam Game Guides via its current community beta. It's a new addition to the marketplace that lets users create and pool walkthroughs, tips and cheats. Check out the details below.

Eurogamer reports that Valve issued a statement on the matter, which reads, "You've probably got some favourite games that you play a lot and know pretty well. Or maybe you've mastered playing as a certain class or character in Team Fortress 2 or Call of Duty. Or maybe you're just really good at finding all the hidden secrets in the latest Elder Scrolls game.

"How do you put that knowledge to use and help fellow gamers? Create a game guide on Steam!"

The tool is live to all participants of the Steam Community Market beta, which we reported on yesterday. Eurogamer adds that users can attach images or YouTube videos to their guide via Steam cloud storage.

Would you use this? Should GameFAQs be worried? Let us know below.
