Space Engineers has also sold 1 million copies

It seems to be the day for indie games to hit significant milestones.

Space Engineers has sold through 1 million copies, developer Keen Software House has announced. I expect the recent free Steam weekend helped push it past the 1 million mark.

Like The Stanley Parable, which also hit 1 million sales today, Space Engineers passed the milestone right on its first anniversary of being on sale. In Space Engineers' case, it's still in Early Access, which makes the achievement even more impressive.

"We want to devote this accomplishment to our fans, whose encouragement and active participation made this possible. They have been beside us all along, giving inspiration for new ideas and supporting us with their valuable feedback," Keen CEO Marek Rosa said in a statement published on Blue's News.

"It is a great thing to have such an amazing community like ours."

Space Engineers arrived on Steam in October 2013 and hit 500,000 sales by May this year.
