Slender: The Arrival written by Marble Hornets team

The writers of one of the most successful pieces of Slender Man media have lent their talents to Slender: The Arrival.

Co-developer Blue Isle Studios announced the collaboration , which has Marble Hornets creators (and stars) Joseph DeLage, Troy Wagner and Tim Sutton "crafting a deeply immersive and truly frightening storyline for The Arrival".

Slender: The Arrival is a greatly expanded commercial remake and sequel to indie horror Slender: The Eight Pages, created by Mark Hadley - who's also keen to work with the writing team.

"I'm thrilled to welcome The Marble Hornets group to our development team. I’m confident that together we can produce a mind blowing horror experience in The Arrival," he said.

Marble Hornets, an ongoing YouTube series with AR elements, spans more than two seasons of Slender Man-inspired horror but still manages to maintain its thrill. Slender Man, for those souls living under a less frightening rock than mine, is a creepypasta-type legend which debuted on the Something Awful forums, quickly absorbed a number of related myths and stories, and went on to Internet fame and fortune.

Slender: The Arrival is due on PC in early 2013.
