Skyrim DLC still headed to PlayStation 3

Bethesda hasn't given up on bringing Dawnguard and Hearthfire to PlayStation 3, although Dragonborn is its first priority.

On the Bethesda Blog, the publisher noted its commitment to getting DLC working on the PlayStation 3.

"We’re hard at work to make this content available early next year on PS3 and PC. On PS3 in particular, we turned our attention to Dragonborn, as we thought it was the best content to release first, and we didn’t want folks to wait longer," the post said.

"Once it’s ready to go for everyone, we’ll continue our previous work on Hearthfire and Dawnguard for PS3. Each one takes a lot of time and attention to work well in all circumstances and all combinations of DLC. Once we have a better idea of release timing and pricing, we’ll let you know."

Skyrim's latest DLC pack, Dragonborn, allows users to ride dragons and go to Morrowind. It's available now for Xbox 360 and is expected on PC and PlayStation 3 next year.

The PlayStation 3 version of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim roved problematic at release; it took several delayed patches to get the game into a less crashtastic state, and DLC has been delayed while Bethesda and Sony work through technical issues. At one point, it wasn't sure the DLC would make it at all.
