NOE shuts down Club Nintendo and website functionality due to phishing possibility

Okay, seriously. This is getting silly.

Nintendo Europe has learned of a possible phishing threat to users of the European Nintendo website, and it is currently investigating the matter.

To protect customers, it has shut down some parts of its websites "until further notice."

"We would like to reassure you that we do not hold our customer’s bank, credit card or address details on the European Nintendo website and so this data is not at risk," reads the notice.

Nintendo has apologized for any "inconvenience this has caused," and has said to get in touch with Nintendo Customer Services if you have any further concerns.

Club Nintendo is also closed for the time being until further notice due to this.
