F-Zero's future is uncertain as Miyamoto struggles to come up with good ideas

F-Zero has been absent for a long time now, and it doesn't seem like Nintendo's anti-grav racer is coming back any time soon. The problem? Shigeru Miyamoto is struggling to think of good ideas that would warrant its return.

Speaking with IGN, Miyamoto Falcon-Punched the hell out of hopes that the series might return on Wii U in the near future. He said, "I think where I struggle is that I don’t really have a good idea for what’s new that we could bring to F-Zero that would really turn it into a great game again.

"I don’t know, at this point, what direction we could go in with a new F-Zero. We come to [E3] and we bring a lot of great franchises and everyone says, 'Oh, well, where’s this game that I want to play? Where’s something new?' I only have so much capacity."

Would you like to see Miyamoto turn his hand to F-Zero after Pikmin 3 is out of the gate, or will Mario Kart 8 provide all the racing fun you need on Nintendo formats? Let us know below.
