EverQuest Next Landmark may use Sony's unannounced VR headset - report

EverQuest Next Landmark could make use of Sony's rumoured VR headset, according to SOE president John Smedley.

If you missed the EverQuest Next Landmark trailer from last year, just hit the link to see what all the fuss is about.

Smedley let slip mention of Sony's rumoured VR device during a Reddit AMA, when asked if EverQuest Next Landmark would offer VR support from Oculus Rift or other devices.

He replied, "Hearing good things about 2 competitors.. one of which actually comes from Sony. So I'm thinking this is real and we may have our Snowcrash after all."

'Snow Crash' is - of course - the Neal Stephenson novel which coined the notion of a VR-enabled internet back in 1992.

Sony's VR headset device has been rumoured for some time, and the last noise regarding the matter concerned these patents.

EverQuest Next Landmark is coming to PS4 and PC.
