Two more Xbox One exclusives skipping E3 2015 for gamescom

Crackdown and Scalebound will not be on show at E3 2015.

Although we already knew Quantum Break will not be on show at E3 2015 and that Scalebound developer Platinum Games will be focused on a new game reveal at E3 2015, it turns out Microsoft has at least one other hole in its line-up - which in itself is not terribly surprising.

The news is buried at the bottom of a lengthy Xbox NewsWire post about the Oculus Rift Xbox One collaboration, HoloLens, Xbox Feedback and Microsoft's E3 plans.

"Having a jam-packed lineup of games to show at E3 means that there simply isn’t enough time to give each of our upcoming titles its well-deserved time in the spotlight," Phil Spencer wrote.

"We’ve decided to save some of our most eagerly-awaited future titles for gamescom in August.

"Rest assured that titles like Crackdown, Quantum Break and Scalebound will be front and center at gamescom along with new game reveals for both Xbox One and Windows 10."

That's a reasonable explanation, although knowing that Quantum Break has been pushed back to 2016 and Remedy has lost one of its chief creatives doesn't inspire us with tremendous confidence - and nor does Microsoft's rocky track record working with Japanese developers (see: Steel Battalion, Crimson Dragon).

On the other hand, it's good to see Microsoft giving gamescom some love. The Xbox One isn't performing very well in Europe, and Microsoft's apparent lack of interest in the region may well be part of that. Perhaps it's going to mend its ways and gain a little ground back in the console war?

In any case, be sure to tune into Microsoft's E3 2015 presentation.
