E3 2012 dated, staying in Los Angeles

The ESA has announced dates for next year's E3, which will once again take place at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

According to the association, 46,800 people descended upon the Los Angeles Convention Center for E3 2011, and that 200 exhibitors had wares on display, with more than 120 retail companies from 18 countries participating in E3's VIP Retailer program. Overall international participation in E3 grew "with representatives coming from 106 countries-up from 90 in 2010."

"This year's E3 propelled video games to the pinnacle of the entertainment world," said ESA president and CEO Michael Gallaghe. "The industry's innovation, creativity, and excitement combined to show the world the ultimate entertainment experience.

"The positive news generated by the event reached all parts of the world, and we are looking forward to building on this great momentum in 2012."

ESA also announced that E3 2011 contributed more than $25 million in revenue to the city of Los Angeles.

E3 2012 takes place June 5-7, 2012 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
