Dust 514 coming out 'next month', says Sony exec

Dust 514 could be heading for an October release, according to a potential slip-up by Sony Computer Entertainment America President and CEO Jack Tretton.

IGN reports that Tretton appeared on FOX Business to discuss Sony's PS3 and PS Vita strategy, and when asked about the free-to-play market, he name-dropped CCP's shooter Dust 514.

"We do have free-to-play games," Tretton responded, "A game called Dust 514 is a full-blown first-person shooter available on PlayStation 3 that not only allows you to play against your friends on PS3, but also against people on the PC.”

Tretton was then asked to clarify if he said Dust or Dusk, to which he clarified "Dust", before adding that it's “Coming out next month.”

So there you go, take it with a pinch of salt for now, but we'll keep our eyes open for an official word. You can watch Tretton's interview here to judge for yourself.

Meanwhile, VG247 went hands-on with Dust 514 and interviewed CCP Games on it at length. CHeck out our massive feature here.
