Brazilian Counter-Strike pro player sentenced to 116 years for online fraud

A former professional Counter-Strike: Global Offensive player from Brazil has been handed a 116-year prison sentence for online fraud.

The fraud charge against Counter-Strike: Global Offensive player Shayene "shAy" Victorio was delivered due to an online store she ran. She is accused of not delivering items ordered by 118 customers and refusing to offer refunds (via Business Insider).

Brazil's Special Action Group to Combat Organized Crime investigated the accusations against Victorio. In her appeal, she claims that her ex-husband, who was a co-owner, and business partners are to blame.

Victorio started playing Counter-Strike competitively in 2008 with 1.6 and moved on to Global Offensive. She retired last year to focus on being a streamer and influencer.

30 years is the actual maximum sentence in Brazil, and it won't be handed down until the appeal process
