Chair calls iPad 2 a "game changer," which allowed it to "crank up" Infinity Blade's looks

iPad 2 launched in the US yesterday, and according to Chair Entertainment, the device is "a game-changer."

That's what Eurogamer was told byChair's creative director Donald Mustard.

"They've significantly increased the processing power of the iPad 2 and also added a lot more memory," he said. "Now having 512 megs of memory, the new processing power and increased screen resolution allows us to throw so much more processing at the applications.

"With Infinity Blade we felt we were really pushing at the edge of what can be done. We think this is another leap. It's significant."

An update to the firm's Infinity Blade launched alongside the device yesterday as well, and Mustard said it's textures has been "cranked up," along with "super, super hi-res bump maps and specular maps to all the characters." The firm even turned on full-screen anti-aliasing, promising that it will run "butter-smooth at 30 frames per second."

"Infinity Blade really opened our eyes not just to the market place on iOS but really what could be done with these devices," added Mustard. "So I think we'll definitely be supporting the iOS and the more mobile platforms for the foreseeable future."

Mustard also said that Chair is also working on other projects at the moment, and that it is not "platform agnostic," meaning to expect more titles for systems outside of iOS.

iPad 2 hits the UK the same day as 3DS - March 25.
