Take a look at Viking rap battles and raid gameplay in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla

We played three hours of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and you can read our full impressions at that link. But before you do, how about a quick look at the flyting, or Viking rap battles?

Traditionally, Assassin’s Creed as a series has struggled to give players anything to do outside of fighting, sneaking and climbing. Valhalla bucks that trend, offering up a battle of the wits in its Viking rap battles.

The idea is to rhythmically insult your opponent, choosing the best of three responses to their insults while under a strict time limit. Here’s a quick look at one in action:

We also had a go at one of the game’s big raid missions. First we set across the water, blocking flaming arrows with our shield. Then we make land and batter down doors while chopping off heads. You can see that in action here:

Assassin's Creed Valhalla releases on November 17.
