Wolfenstein: Youngblood release date set for July, Deluxe Edition includes a Buddy Pass

After being teased earlier today, a release date for Wolfenstein: Youngblood has been announced.

The first co-op game in the Wolfenstein series was announced at E3 last year and stars B.J. Blazkowicz's twin daughters.

Wolfenstein: Youngblood takes place in 1980s Paris, and finds the siblings not only fighting "the Reich’s war machine," but trying to locate their missing father.

As one of BJ’s twin daughters, Jess or Soph, you will go up against Nazis with either a friend or AI companion. Check out the story trailer below.

Along with the release date, a Deluxe Edition for the game was announced and it comes with a Buddy Pass.

This pass allows all who purchase the game to partner up with friend, even if said friend doesn't own the game.  The pass can be granted to one friend at a time, allowing them to download and play Wolfenstein: Youngblood for free, as long as they play with the owner of the Deluxe Edition.

Players using the Buddy Pass can choose to upgrade to the full game at any time.

As well as a Buddy Pass, the Deluxe Edition ($39.99) also comes cosmetic bonuses, including the Cyborg Skin Pack, which turns the Power Suits and weapons into titanium alloy versions.
Here's what's in the Cyborg Skin Pack:

  • Cyborg player skin
  • Titanium alloy skins for all weapons
  • Titanium alloy hatchet
  • Titanium alloy knife
  • Armor-boosting pep signal

Pre-order any edition of the game and you will receive additional cosmetic bonuses through the Legacy Pack.  Contents of the pack are below.

Wolfenstein: Youngblood Legacy Pack

  • Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus Jacket Power Suit
  • B.J.’s US Army Power Suit
  • The Wolfenstein: Old Blood Pipe
  • The Wolfenstein: Old Blood Knife
  • A WW2 Weapon Skin Set for all ranged weapons

It's worth noting there will be microtransactions, but they are cosmetic only. These items will be available through the in-game store. According to Bethesda, most in-game store offerings can be purchases via currency earned through gameplay. And there won't be any loot boxes.

Wolfenstein: Youngblood releases July 26 for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
