Guardians of the Galaxy is one of Marvel's most beloved films, and with a sequel on the way next year, this makes a lot of sense. It'll be a five-part series.

We've known about a team up between Marvel and Telltale since April 2015. Word leaked earlier this month, thanks to a document released in connection with the SAG-AFTRA strike, that the project was a Guardians of the Galaxy game.

The first episode will premiere digitally in 2017 on consoles, PC, and mobile devices.

Like Telltale's The Walking Dead and Batman titles, Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series will see a retail release via a Season Pass disc. Again, like the aforementioned titles, it will include the first episode in the season, and will grant access to the other four episodes as they become available for download.

Specific platform details are yet to be announced.
