The iPad version of Broken Age is the prettiest so far

Broken Age looks pretty good on Linux, Mac and PC, but Double Fine thinks the iPad version is the best one. Has the world gone mad?

In a video announcing the release of Act one on iPad, art director Lee Petty explains that the art used in the iPad version is actually higher reolution than even the best Retina displays supports.

If you have a top-of-the line iPad, then, you're getting really, really good graphics - "as close to 1:1 as is possible on any of the platform".

"It's really crisp. The colours and saturation are really good. In my opinion, it's actually the best-looking platform," Petty said.

You'll need to take a look for yourself, but the enthusiasm in this new trailer is pretty obvious.

Grab Broken Age from iTunes for $10. It might even be worth doing if you have a desktop version, because Broken Age supports cross-save.
