Pokémon X & Y sells well Down Under, Pokémon Bank priced reasonably

Pokémon X & Y exceeded 100,000 units during its first weekend on sale in Australia, Nintendo has announced alongside Pokémon Bank pricing for the region.

The title hit shelves the same weekend as everywhere else, October 12, and the game smashed all previous records for a Nintendo game in Australia and New Zealand, with the previous entry, Pokémon Black & White, moving over 80,000 units in its first week of sales.

Combined sales of Pokémon X & Y exceeded this in the first day alone and Nintendo Australia is ensuring that additional stock will be available from this week.

In North America, Pokémon X & Pokémon Y were the No. 1 and No. 2 top-selling titles for October, with more than 1.7 million units combined sold, according to NPD.

The Pokémon Bank, will allows users to transfer caught Pokémon in Black & White and over into X&Y will release in December, and in Australia and New Zealand it will run users AU$6.50 and NZ$8.50 annually.

In North America it will run users $4.99 a year and will be compatible with future Pokémon games in all regions.
