    Nintendo killing another good franchise?
I do really think it’s not an exclusive otherwise Sony wouldn’t have advertized Bayonetta on PSN.
It was the main piece of that week, back in Feb/Mar, don’t remember it correctly.
You don’t build hype and eventually increase fanbase for a game for which you won’t be able to have the sequel.
Nintendo will have nothing more than timed exclusive.
I also think that the 3 Sonic exclusives are the deal Sega had to do to bring back Bayonetta on the other systems.
Sega still holds the rights to the Bayonetta franchise (it’s not owned by Platinum Games) and putting the game exclusively on that shipwreck called WiiU would only mean killing the franchise when loads of people still wants to play it but on other consoles.

@4 you’re butthurt. Please explain to me how Nintendo would kill the franchise? Isn’t Sony popular for killer their own franchises? God of War 3 had a 90+ average on metacritic….and now look at God of War Ascension….79 average. SOCOM Anybody? Sony kills their own IPs.

He’s not in denial, the game wouldn’t exist without Nintendo’s help. Sony and MS didn’t want it cause it sold poorly on those systems. People were too busy playing shooters.

You’re butthurt the Wii U is getting one of the best action games ever created.

@5 Sorry, but Nintendo is fully funded and publishing the game. There will be no PS3 or 360 version. Nintendo has full rights to the second game.

Now could Bayonetta 3 be on the PS4 and Xbox One? Sure. But Bayonetta 2 is a Wii U exclusive for the long haul.

And please don’t bring up the typical VG247 trash response “but what about Ninja Gaiden Razor’s Edge or Ninja Gaiden 2.” Both of those games were funded by Tecmo then signed exclusivity deals for a set of amount of time before it could come to other systems.

Nothing to do with butthurt, it has something to do with the fact that the sequel to the original which is on PS3 and Xbox360 is coming exclusively to a platform which didn’t receive the original, where exactly could they find better success on Wii U where games of a certain nature will never succeed on this platform.

Nintendo Don’t kill their franchises, they just milk them, theres a difference, Sony on the other hand don’t kill their franchises a few bad entries doesn’t equal killing, every publisher has a bad entry in a franchise when that happens they find a time to reboot it. This game could come to other platforms i see that happening when it bombs. The shooter remark again is just a generalisation.

    @Dragon
It only includes everyone but Nintendo, you know to prove his point as always :D

And welcome to another episode of idiot exposed, spitting the word right without even knowing what it means.

Don’t you feel shame when you try to act like a big boy and people realize you’re an ignorant kid that speaks about what he doesn’t know?

Nintendo has Publishing Rights that is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY different from Owning a Property and having Copyrights.
Sega retains Copyright on the Intellectual Property, that means, logo, characters, backstory and the likes.

Publishing rights enables a third party to Print and Distribute a product in an area or worldwide (Check how Witcher 2 on PC had different publishers for different areas, or Demon’s Souls published in Japan by Sony and Namco/Bandai for the rest of the World)
The Publisher might fund the product but that means lots of things, since it might be funding the whole development project, like Microsoft did with Mass Effect 1 and Gears of War or funding just the Promotion and Printing, that, you might not imagine it, but it means great amount of money.
Also, Publishing Rights have ALWAYS a deadline, since the Publisher can’t avoid the Copyright holder to get revenue from its product on other markets.

We don’t know the details of the deal, but as long as Bayonetta Copyright has not been sold to Nintendo, don’t be sure that it will be released only on WiiU.

Be sure to know stuff before you speak.
Remember, be aware of what you say or keep your mouth shut, so that people won’t realize how ignorant you are.
That’s the best case scenario, people might also think you’re a whiner.

Dragon246… New Super Mario Bros games never had over a 90% average on metecritic….They were never AAA to begin with.

Legendarydamagecontrol… Sony would milk their franchises if any of them sell like Mario. Killzone isn’t milked? God of War isn’t milked? Gran Tursimo isnt milked? Rightttt….

And correct me if I’m wrong…but SOCOM is pretty much dead right now isn’t it?

@6 you’re no where near as tough as you talk online keyboard warrior. This is what Kamiya said about Bayonetta 2 going multiplatform

    http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2013-02-08-wii-u-exclusives-bayonetta-2-and-wonderful-101-will-remain-exclusives-insists-platinum

“We’re a development company… Nintendo gives us money, we make Bayonetta 2 and Wonderful 101, and they sell it,” Kamiya explained.

“So if Nintendo says ‘We’re putting Bayonetta 2 on PS3 and 360′ it’ll come out on those platforms… So ask Nintendo about it…” he quipped.

You freaking drones are so stupid sometimes. Get butt hurt and cry all you want. Bayonetta 2 isn’t going multiplatform.

    @Francis
Let see Sony would do that but they don’t. Killzone? one game in 2011 and two games in 2013 completely different from each other. God of War? last few GOW games were in 2010 recent one Ascension came out three years later in March. GT? forget the fact that there are only two GT games on each Playstation console (and one on portables) GT5 launched in 2010 and GT6 launches Holiday 2013.

@Joe – I’m not butthurt one bit, unlike you clowns anything I want on Sony’s systems I can play. I got all the the systems. You guys are the ones who will be missing out on great games on the Wii U…like Bayonetta 2

Lengendary, Killzone is the same it’s just a first person shooter. And I think you’re forgetting the PSP and PS Vita Killzone games….and the collection.

Not to mention…you’re forgetting the PSP God of War games. And the PSP God of War Collection, and the Bigger God of War Collection with the five games.

Sony milks their franchises. They just spend more and make less than Nintendo. That’s why they sold off their US and Japanese headquarters….and lost billions on the PS3 this gen. Plus Sony had failures like PS All Stars, MAG, SOCOM, Wonderbook, almost any game for Move…

I don’t own a Wii U and don’t plan to until there’s a big enough library of titles that interest me but Platinum are one of my favourite developers this gen. At worst I consider their games good, at their best then they’re the best in their respective genre.

AAA is more about budget than quality. Though obviously they hope the latter follows. I wouldn’t say the budget for any 2D Mario would merit AAA status, but then the original comments were about quality not budget so why does AAA status even matter?

    #27 2 years ago
  28. Francis O

@Dragon – New Super Mario Bros is made with a fraction of the budget of AAA games like God of War Ascension. New Super Mario Bros 2 was made by a bunch of new rookies Nintendo wanted to get experience in making a game. It’s not AAA, the budget for those games are piss poor. Post when a new 3D Mario game made by EAD has a 79% on Metacritic.

    New IPs by Nintendo:

    1. Xenblade
    2. The Last Story

I don’t think you understood what i meant by milking. By milking i meant that a game in a franchise comes out every year without no break, best example is COD.
“And I think you’re forgetting the PSP and PS Vita Killzone games” no i didn’t i said “two games in 2013.” Killzone 1 in 2004, then Liberation in 2006, then Killzone 2 in 2009, then Killzone 3 in 2011, then two Killzone Games in 2013 (Mercenary And Shadow Fall)
“you’re forgetting the PSP God of War games. And the PSP God of War Collection, and the Bigger God of War Collection with the five games.” Again i didn’t GOW1 in 2005, GOW2 in 2007, GOW COO in 2008, GOW3/Ghost Of Sparta in 2010, GOW: A in 2013.
The difference between Nintendo Milking and Sony Milking is that Sony leaves a two year gap between their franchises Nintendo doesn’t they milk their games at a quicker rate thats why i see it as worse therefore milking, again go look at the list of Mario games.

@27 It matters because blurring the lines to imply credit where it may not be due is very important. To some.

This includes, but is not limited to:

    - Crediting second and third party studios as first party (lol @ 28)
    - Listing unreleased (and even unannounced) games ‘proof’ of a platform’s strength
    - Insisting that rumours are facts based on nothing but bias

And if you don’t share my personal view then you’re nothing but a droney drone drone. Obviously.

Personally, I am on the fence about whether or not we’ll see Bayonetta 2 on another console. If it was any other company but Sega who owned the IP, it’d be a no brainer that it would come, in an enhanced edition to the PS3/360, if not the next-gen systems.

However, Sega do have a history of letting some of their franchises die on less popular systems. I distinctly remember when they announced Shenmue II would be on the original Xbox in North America, skipping even the Dreamcast version, which was insane. Consequently, the Shenmue franchise died. Same with Panzer Dragoon and Jet Set Radio.

Then there’s their treatment of Valkyria Chronicles.

Sega are probably some of the worst businessmen in the entire industry and while I wouldn’t be surprised if it is a timed exclusive, I’d be just as unsurprised to see it stay exclusive, simply because Sega like betting on the wrong horse.

Seriously, if they were a person, casinos would be creaming to have them come in and bet their mortgages away in a single afternoon.

    Dragon

    1. Nintendo owns Monolith that’s a first party game
    2. Nintendo and Mistwalker co-made The Last Story and funded it –>New IP from Ninty
    3. Nintendo and Ganbarion co made the game –> New IP for Ninty
    4. Monolith = Nintendo Soma Bringer —> New IP
    5. Fling Smash –> New IP
    6. New IP
    7. New IP
    8. Nintendo Land is a New IP just like PlayStation All Stars is a new IP
    9. New IP

Nobody said anything about them having to be retail or not. backup just said Nintendo doesn’t make new IPs….which is wrong.

Agreed. They are just like Resistance games. I only said this output isn’t really noteworthy.
I wonder what there EAD teams are doing, smoking cigars dipped in Mario AA milk :D

“I still think Nintendo milks it worse”

Legendary you just admitted Sony milks their franchises even though you put up all that shit saying they don’t! You owned yourself #dealwithit

    #41 2 years ago
  42. Dragon246

    @38,
Its really sad when ninty fans have to bring in a list of Ninty new IPs games which have metascore of 48 and 65.
Still running away from sales figures eh?

    #42 2 years ago
  43. Francis O

I didn’t know Xenoblade, Harmo Knight, The Last Story, Soma Bringer, Pushmo, Crashmo, and Pandora’s Tower have 48s and 65….

might want to check those numbers again. I named far more good games than bad.

And nobody is running from sales numbers….you ran away from debating me live. If you got numbers to prove me wrong. Post them or STFU

  44. Clupula

The only Sony franchise I can say I legitimately feel they milk is Ratchet & Clank, which has a ridiculous amount of titles in a small period of time.

Otherwise, I think Sony have been very good about their franchises.

    #44 2 years ago
  45. Lengendaryboss

    @Francis
Your misunderstood again, i said Nintendo “milk their games at a quicker rate thats why i see it as worse therefore milking” while Sony yes they do milk it not as much and as quickly as Nintendo: Name one Sony franchise that is milked every year, i can’t think of one.

Man, these comment sections are nothing but console wars lately. I want to believe you guys are kids, but I know that’s not the case. It’s embarassing, really. Some of you guys should take a break from the internet. Drink a beer (or smoke a joint), have some sex, take a walk, etc. When you’re done, (hopefully) you’ll realize how petty and childish these internet “wars” are.

    #46 2 years ago
  47. Clupula

@45 – Well, as I said, Ratchet & Clank do seem to find themselves in a game a year. Kinda like how Mario seems to do the same.

    @Francis O
every time you open mouth you prove to be an idiot.

You should know how Kamiya trolls people…but…even if it wasn’t the case, I can send you the print screen of some convo I had with Bioware people, when I and other people were asking for a PS3 version of Mass Effect.
Our thread on BSN was closed, and we were told that a PS3 version wasn’t going to happen.
This when the PS3 was in development.
Devs are restricted by NDAs, you should know it.
It’s called PR speech, another thing you’re ignorant about or you choose to ignore, and that would be worse, showing how much you’re thick.

And I want to add another point to your over 9000 idiocy.
When you challenge someone, you take care to do it on a levelled field.
You’re not considering in your thickness that not all the people visiting a site/forum have English as their native tongue.
I’m Italian, do you want to face me in my native language?

    See?
I’m telling you how thick you are in a language that is not even mine.
    Guess who’s owned here?

Oh yeah forgot about poor Ratchet & Clank, yeah i kinda missed your comment because i watching a video while doing the comment, didn’t see it in time.

    Legendarydancer

That was not the point man…. you said Sony doesn’t milk franchises….yet you clearly admitted they do….just not at a quicker rate. You dancing around your own words.

    - And all you named was one franchise…..Mario. What else does Nintendo milk? New games every year?

    Last year there was no:

    Donkey Kong
    Zelda
    Metroid
    F-Zero
    Pikmin
    Wii Sports
    Wii Sports Resort
    Wii Fit
    Smash Bros
    Mario Kart
    Punch-Out
    Star Fox
    Earthbound

–Nintendo just released smaller titles, there RPGs and Mario.

    @43,
Please continue to run away and spinning. Top 8 ninty new ips have a 65 and 48 in them according you. So sad.
    Oh, and this-
    Last quarter-
    PS2+PS3 – 3.4 million
    PSP+Vita – 1.3 million

    Wii + Wiiu- 800k
    DS+3DS- 1.44 million

Whats up? I wonder who should STFU now and admit up.

    1. Xenoblade – 92
    2. The Last Story – 80
    3. Pandora’s Tower – 73
    4. Harmo Knight – 73
    5. Pushmo – 90
    6. Crashmo – 86
    7. Dillions Rolling Western TLR – 72

    Owned… I named 2 games bad scores

Shipped does not equal sold, troll. Why would Nintendo ship more units than the PS3 when the PS3 is selling better and the Wii U is not selling well while the Wii is full stocked at stores.

Fail….post a link where you can prove Sony outsells the Nintendo is total hardware SOLD!

    #53 2 years ago
  54. Lengendaryboss

    @Francis
Oh i dread to think where you come up with those nicknames. No, you said: “Sony would milk their franchises if any of them sell like Mario.” In response i said: “Let see Sony would do that but they don’t.” By that i meant they don’t have any franchise near the level Mario sells. I was responding to the hypothetical situation you posed not Sony on milking.

  55. Francis O

Whatever…. all of this started with one drone getting butthurt over Bayonetta 2.

  56. OmegaSlayer

    @Francis O
Yeah, I don’t have proofs that it will be ported, I don’t deny that.
It’s you that are in denial thinking you have proofs that it will stay exclusive.

I’m not calling you an idiot because of proofs, I’m calling you idiot because you speak about things you don’t know pretending to know them, and because you seem to have big problems in reading and understanding what people writes and you sound like a broken record, repeating things that even backfires on you.

Do you really think you’re the keeper of the truth when almost everyone here tells you that you’re wrong?
    Presumptuos much?
Well, arrogance is another distinctive trait of idiots.

As for your stupid youtube channel.
It seems to me that what I’m saying burns your butt so hard that you fail hard to even read my posts.
I’m Italian, it’s obvious that you’ll win in a debate in your language, silly bumhole.
So, you can take your youtube channel and shove it up in that part of your body where the light never shines.

    @53,
“As for the Nintendo selling the most hardware units, its pretty easy to come to the conclusion.

    http://gamingeverything.com/46120/march-2013-npd-rumored-hardware-sales/

Between the Wii U, Wii, and 3DS Nintendo sold 388000 units excluding the DS which sold 86,000 units. for March

    Sony sold 211,000 PS3′s with 33,000 Vita’s and 8000 PSP’s for a grand total of 252,0000 units. ”
    http://www.vg247.com/2013/05/20/deus-ex-human-revolution-wii-u-gets-the-gadget-show-treatment/

So you took NPD figures and extrapolated them to entire world, sounds like something you would do.
And just like you, keep spinning them.

    My proof? Impeccable as ever-
    Sony -http://www.sony.net/SonyInfo/IR/financial/fr/viewer/12q4/
    Nintendo- http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=545984

    And forgot this-
    Fling Smash- 48 on metacritic.
    http://www.metacritic.com/game/wii/flingsmash
Sooo, that’s 4 new ips out of 9 you mentioned, truly sad state of affairs for Ninty if even a hardcore ninty fan like you cant think of better new ips from them.

    LOL

    Nothing changes,

It’s threads like this that made me start commenting on this site. Sony fanbirds of a feather, always stick together…

It used to be TEA, in crazy denial, running his mouth about Killzone 3 in 3D… We all remember how that turned out.

One of the main reasons I started to comment was to try and add some balance, especially from the Nintendo side. A lot of people on here seem to like playing ‘Soggy Biscuit’ over there PS3′s…

Francis is getting triple banged AGAIN, yet if I decide to wade in people will start crying again…

It’s like watching a classroom of kids when the teachers not shown up yet.

Also, I haven’t read all the comments yet, but has Joe called out Omega Slayer for making ‘assumptions’ on Bayonetta 2 becoming multiplatform yet?

    #75 2 years ago

I don’t know. I had that initial WTF reaction when I first heard it would be Wii U exclusive, but I have gotten over that. It would be great if they had some kinda multi-plat Bayonetta 2 Σ edition, but I don’t really want to wait around to find out if that becomes a reality, and I want to support Platinum.

Nintendo does deserve more exclusives. Every console does. That’s why you buy a console. I want more exclusives on all systems. I’m not interested this very tiring, and continuing trend of having the same goddamn games released on all systems. Remember the great 16-bit era????????

    #81 2 years ago
  82. Clupula

@81 – I want more exclusives on the consoles myself. However, no company DESERVES more exclusives. If they want them, they either make them or they spend money to get them. No one gets anything in life because they deserve it.

@79 – It’s not like Platinum are only going to be making games for Nintendo from now on. I mean, I love them too, but they aren’t owned by anybody, and after Metal Gear Rising’s success, I pretty much figure a lot of different companies are going to utilizing their services.

Of course, if you feel you have to buy an entire system to buy the two games they’ll make for it, then by all means, feel free.

    #82 2 years ago
  83. Agt_Pendergast

    @82

I was going to buy a Wii U eventually, Bayonetta 2 just means I’ll get it sooner than later. I still enjoy many of Nintendo’s franchises, I’m just less enthusiastic about them now.
