Far Cry 3 developer-narrated video faffs about in the sandbox

Far Cry 3 lead designer Jamie Keen and level design director Mark Thompson walk us through 14 minutes of sandbox play in this gameplay-rich video.

In this GameSpot production, you can see the player gathering materials to upgrade their gear, shooting a variety of innocent animals, and listening to terrific accents while largely ignoring mission objectives. Seems ideal to me.

Far Cry 3 is due on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 at the end of November in PAL territories and early December in the US.

Uh, this is what i’ve been waiting for. This definitely sold the game for me. Really seems like they have found a good way to combine all the elements in the game.

Looks insanely good, the animations and weapon handling is way ahead of the CoD FPS clones out there.

I really hope they bring back the malaria feature. That really sold the 2nd game for me. :B

@3

The developer already said there is no disease. SO no you don’t get malaria.

Looks nice, except for the way the character moves.. that looks retarded! But I guess you can’t look any other way when you’re using a tard-pad.

edit: @lama What do you expect!? The guy is playing on a console.
