Quick Shots – Dragon’s Dogma DLC equipment varies in style

Capcom has detailed the Japanese special edition of Dragon’s Dogma, which includes a huge box, a monster statue, a bookmark, a booklet, and premium DLC, which will be made available for purchase some time after launch, should you want to buy a gum nut hat and cloak set which makes your character look like a prat.

Andriasang has further details, but really we’re here for the pretty pictures. Ignore all those equipment and packaging shots and go straight to those showing off the results of a crossover with anime franchise Berserk. I have no idea what Berserk actually is but that helmet the armoured character is wearing is sweet.

Dragon’s Dogma is expected on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in May. it’s an open-world action RPG with an interesting form of asynchronous multiplayer; AI companions can be sent off with or recruited from other players, taking knowledge of their battles and encounters with them.

“I have no idea what Berserk actually is”

Well, maybe the most famous and respected heroic-fantasy manga ever ;)

@1 I Agree, is the most famous manga and it is my favorite anime to date, but i will called dark-gory-fantasy because it is really strong on dark and gory topics, speaking of which i hope the new ovas that will cover all the manga story will be hitting U.S pretty soon, it doenst matter if they are C.G, i want this new ovas ASAP.
p.s i hope with the new ovas project, theres also the oportunity for a new berserk game, the last one came in the dreamcast era, IMO it is time already for a new berserk game.

One last thing, i will recommed you brenna pick claymore the anime, it is the closest thing i saw on anime that came close to berserk, in the dark fantasy setting, and the main character is a woman, which maybe is a plus for you, therefore if dark fantasy setting is your thing, well pick it up , although i have to mention the story was not finished in the anime, because the manga is still running till this very date, but if you like claymore, chances are you will like berserk too.

@2 : There was a VERY good PS2 game on Berserk, which covered the story from the encounter with Ishodoro till Guts get his Berserker armor (and his first fight with it, against the dragon general).

I wish there would be a new Berserk video game released in the future, but if Western release of Dragon Dogma has Guts and Griffith’s skin, I will probably take it !

They only released it in Japan.

Theres also Sword of the Berserk on the Dreamcast, that did make over-seas but sadly its terrible. The PS2 game really is great, they made a damn fine job of showing how heavy the Dragon Slayer actually is and just how satisfying it is to send tens of trolls flying through the air in pieces.

@5 : that’s right, the game was really brilliant in making you feel how heavy the Dragon slayer was, and you could feel how desperate Guts’ fight really is in fact.
The “slow” movements made sense, but they also gave a nice contrast when you get the Berserker armor at the end

Sadly it never got released outside of Japan (if you know BERSERK’s story, it is not a problem to follow the game, but you still need a japanese PS2 or an adaptator)

Here is a bit of gameplay:
