Homefront 2 is "certainly the plan," says Kaos

Kaos boss David Votypka has said that a Homefront sequel is definitely on the books, depending on the success of the first game.

"We've been talking about it for quite a while," the studio's creative director and general manager told Eurogamer.

"THQ and Kaos have always looked at it as a franchise. Assuming it does well, that's certainly the plan – to move on to future Homefront products."

When, or if, Homefront 2 happens, Votypka hinted at a new gameplay mechanic for the game.

"I can't talk too much about it, but I will say that in Homefront we have some great in-game storytelling moments and we have our combat moments.

"I'd like to add a third gameplay layer to that. A really gameplay centric layer. I'll leave it at that."

The signs for the series' future has been good so far. On one hand, the first title has been the most pre-ordered title in THQ's history. And on the other, it confirmed at GDC that THQ Montreal is to develop the series in future alongside Kaos.

Homefront releases next Friday for PS3, 360 and PC.
