Bad Company 2: VIP Map Pack 2 now available for PC

bfbc2

EA and DICE announced today that the VIP Map Pack 2 for Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is now available for PC.

It includes:

  • Arica Harbor Conquest Mode: Take to the streets and put your infantry skills to the test! Capture strategic town positions as Arica Harbor is enhanced with Conquest Mode.
  • Laguna Presa Rush Mode: Capture and secure M-COM stations in Laguna Presa’s Rush Mode and discover all-new areas of the maps to take on the enemy.

The map pack is available with the code included in every new copy of BFBC2, and PC users will get the content as a game update. Players that do not have a code can purchase one via the in-game store

VIP status will also be made available to those on consoles without a VIP code through XBL and PSN – and the update is expected “soon” according to an official tweet.

More information on the pack and a teaser video of it can be found over on the game’s official website.

DICE really want to fight with Modern Warfare 2. I think they are upset a little bit about MW2 success, because MW2 is really worse then Battlefield:BC2 in everything, but sales of course 8 times better.

I think DICE need to search its own road on consoles.

@1
If they really wanted to fight with Modern Warfare 2 they’d have actually made this ‘map pack’ decent, rather then it being the same maps already released but for new modes.

And how much is this so called ‘map pack’ if you dont have VIP status?

“The map pack is available with the code included in every new copy of BFBC2, and PC users will get the content as a game update. Players that do not have a code can purchase one via the in-game store”

Well mine’s not downloading anything, and I have an original version etc. I thought the VIP thing was where you pay extra.

You “download” the map pack (it’s already on the disk I rekon) when you connect to a game server, Droid m8.

The map pack is already on the disc. It’s obvious that it was locked for the sole reason to be released the same day as MW2 DLC. No title update, no download, no downtime. EA went for the lols with this one.

It’s not hard to make a free map pack when you don’t have to add any actual content to it. They just bordered off a couple of maps and changed the rules.

.. And mind you that it’s still 10$ for the “non-VIPs”

Personally I’m tiring of BC2 already, and a couple of recycled maps isn’t going to make a big difference.

@1 Oh yeah, 88% is way better than 95%

Laguna Alta is about a thousand times better in Rush, and is basically a new map because the conquest version uses about a 5th of the rush versions map.

Yeah the serial. There was also another code on the back of the manual, and another just inside the last page, which made me wonder. Already had to input that 3 times. =/ The EA server resets didn’t seem to want to know me when I tried to install. It’s allllll good now. :)

Good good. I’m on the Xbox one so we only had to stick in one code.

Putting codes in for console games, ok it’s only to unlock free content, but it feels odd to have reached this stage in console gaming. Welcome to the future, where games must install, update, and require keys even on consoles, and tv’s have loading screens.

It’s like we’ve gone backwards.

Can confirm that by inputting the VIP code once, all VIP map packs will be unlocked from that point on. Booted it up and played Laguna rush — a fantastic map!
